When faced with a complex disciplinary hearing it can be difficult to keep track of what is been said, decide what to ask next and remember to keep accurate notes as you go along and in a smaller business it may not be appropriate to ask another member of staff to take notes.
Your note taker would attend your premises for the duration of the formal meeting. They would take an accurate hand written record of the meeting and then type these up in the appropriate format. You would receive your typed notes within 24 hours by email so copies can be printed off and provided to the relevant employees.
Although the note taker would not contribute to the meeting, other than for clarification, they would be your witness to the proceedings should the process be challenged at a later date.
