As Required HR Support

In a small business when a disciplinary matter arises how do you, the owner of the business, demonstrate a fair process when you have investigated the situation, managed the disciplinary hearing and then heard the appeal? Here is a link to a recent Tribunal decision which highlights the importance of having different people leading each stage – even in a small family run business Henshaw v Touch Tanning Ltd ET/2605284/09.

Here are some examples of how I can help you:-

  • Formal Investigation Since the introduction in 2009 of the ACAS Code investigations in both disciplinary and grievance matters have become critically important prior to a formal hearing.
  • Employee Surveys.Find out answers to a range of pre-determined questions. I would interview each member of staff, prepare a report with recommendations.
  • Mediation Mediation is a confidential process of dispute resolution in which an impartial third party facilitates a series of private meetings with the individuals.
  • Professional Note Taking A professional note taker for those crucial formal meetings.
  • Redundancy.Support with the communication and consultation meetings.
  • Training. Developing your management team either in groups or in a one to one setting.
